Tashkent will host the Fencing World Championship in 2027.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to Podrobno.uz, the International Fencing Federation (FIE) has announced that the World Championship for adults will be held in Tashkent in 2027, as reported by a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

The competitions will take place from July 20 to 28 and are expected to be a significant event in the sports life of Uzbekistan.

This announcement was made during the recent FIE congress held in Tashkent. A key highlight of the congress was the re-election of Alisher Usmanov as the president of the federation. Additionally, Gulnara Saidova, the General Secretary of the Fencing Federation of Uzbekistan, was elected to the FIE Executive Committee.

During the event, an award ceremony was held to celebrate the year's achievements.

It is worth noting that the 2025 Asian Games, which were supposed to be held in Uzbekistan, have been moved to Bahrain. This decision was justified by the inability to complete the construction of the Olympic Village in Tashkent on time.
