Renovation of the capital's "Pahtakor" stadium is set to begin next year.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. The renovation of the "Pakhtakor" stadium in Tashkent is set to begin in the spring of next year. This announcement was made by Jahongir Artykhojaev, the chairman of the football club of the same name.
В следующем году начнется реконструкция стадиона "Пахтакор" в столице.

According to journalist Davron Faiziev, during the recent press conference, Artykhodjaev promised that the stadium would meet the standards of the International Federation of Football (FIFA).

It is worth noting that as part of the privatization program, on January 16 of this year, the Agency for State Asset Management announced the sale of a 100% state stake in the football club "Pahktakor" along with 24 hectares of land. Two days later, the club was temporarily removed from the auction after "considering public opinion." Many expressed that football should be developed by the state. Others suggested that the club's sale process might be linked to further land manipulations.

"Is there a guarantee that after the club is purchased, the current stadium and club territory, which have become historic for millions of Uzbeks, will not be destroyed, and that various commercial and residential buildings will not be constructed in their place?" asked public figure Rasul Kusherbaev at that time.

It should be noted that there have been no reports regarding the resumption of the auctions.
