Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, at the World Weightlifting Championship held in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, the men's team from Uzbekistan secured third place in the overall medal standings, reports a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.

According to the press service of the National Olympic Committee, Uzbekistan has won 3 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

Gold:

  • -109 kg – Ruslan Nurudinov (clean and jerk, world record);

  • -109 kg – Ruslan Nurudinov (total);

  • -109 kg – Sharofiddin Amriddinov (snatch).

Silver:

  • -81 kg – Muhammadkadir Toshtemirov (snatch).

Bronze:

  • -81 kg – Muhammadkadir Toshtemirov (total);

  • -89 kg – Sarvarbek Zafarjonov (snatch).

The World Weightlifting Championships took place from December 6 to 15. Approximately 500 athletes from 92 countries participated in the competitions.

It is worth noting that at the recent World Championship in Bahrain, weightlifter Ruslan Nurudinov broke his own world record and became a three-time world champion.
