According to reports from the press service of the head of state, measures to enhance the efficiency of land use were outlined during a critically-toned meeting. Each cluster, as well as farmer and dehkan farms, will be included in the information system "Agroplatform." This system will encompass data on sown areas, production volumes, number of employees, and tax revenues.
Next year, in seven districts specializing in fruit and vegetable production, a three-harvest system is planned to be organized over an area of 52 thousand hectares. Additionally, industrial orchards and vineyards will be established on 5 thousand hectares.
Overall, lands in 22 districts and cities of the region will be connected to processing and export enterprises. It was noted that this will enable the preparation of 3.5 million tons of fruit and vegetable products for export worth 500 million dollars next year.
The meeting focused on the infrastructure and logistics of the Tashkent region, which are favorable for entrepreneurship. However, over the past three years, the area of production, trade, and service facilities has increased by 1.6 million square meters, which is 3.5 times less than in the capital of Uzbekistan. Of the 9 thousand hectares allocated for investment projects, 2 thousand hectares remain unused. Several state-owned facilities are idle.
It was noted that investors have shown interest in constructing a "smart city," a medical cluster, and "green" power plants in the region. Thousands of entrepreneurs from the capital and other regions are seeking sites for business expansion, new enterprises, hotels, and trade and tourism complexes.
Deficiencies in the relevant work of the Agency for the Management of State Assets and the responsible officials in the region were highlighted. Instructions were given to auction buildings and lands under favorable conditions for entrepreneurs, as well as to increase investment volumes, create new jobs, and boost exports through these projects.
The governor of the Tashkent region presented plans for the next year to attract 5 billion dollars in investment and increase exports to 2 billion dollars.
The head of state pointed out that half of the expected investments are planned to be directed to already developed cities - Almalyk, Angren, Chirchik, as well as the Akhangaran, Zangiata, and Kibray districts. In this regard, the necessity to develop additional projects in relatively lagging areas such as Akdarya, Bekabad, Buka, Parkent, Pskent, Kuichirchik, and Chinoz was emphasized in order to create new jobs.
It was stressed that, through the opportunities of the Tashkent region, an increase in the income of the entire population can be achieved. The task was set to ensure employment for 700 thousand people by 2025, reduce the unemployment rate to its natural level, lift 22 thousand families out of poverty, decreasing the poverty rate from the current 7.2% to 4%, and provide jobs for labor migrants returning from abroad.
The president also spoke with the entrepreneurs participating in the meeting. Paying special attention to their proposals and initiatives, he gave relevant instructions to the responsible officials.
