Recall that the automotive industry plans for 2025 were discussed in November. At that time, officials were tasked with critically reviewing them. The current presentation showcases enhanced measures developed based on the President's directives, reports the press service of the head of state.
The primary focus is on increasing production volumes and improving quality. Currently, more than 400 thousand vehicles are sold annually. With the rise in population incomes, this trend is expected to continue in the coming years. This creates opportunities for producing goods that meet demand.
Furthermore, Uzbekistan is anticipated to become a member of the World Trade Organization. Competition in the market will significantly intensify for local manufacturers. Therefore, the President emphasized the necessity of working on product quality and increasing the level of localization.
In particular, by localizing 60 components for BYD vehicles, it may be possible to reduce the cost of electric vehicles by 2025. The management of this company highly values the potential of domestic enterprises. A task has been set to leverage the capabilities of the Localization Support Center and double production volumes in cooperation with regional enterprises.
Another crucial issue is export. In recent years, over 40 thousand auto kits have been exported to neighboring countries. As already reported, next year Uzbekistan plans to increase exports to over 700 million dollars. Additionally, there is a noted need to bring bus and freight transport manufacturing enterprises in Samarkand to external markets.
The head of state specifically highlighted the economic and social significance of the industry. He underscored the importance of adapting to modern requirements, ensuring stable production, as well as continuously working on marketing and product quality.
