On December 11, a phone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, as reported by the press service of the Uzbek leader.

During the conversation, the leaders of the two countries addressed pressing issues regarding the further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Russian relations within the framework of their comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.

The Presidents thoroughly examined the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the Russian leader to Uzbekistan in May 2024, based on the roadmap approved by the leaders.

A high evaluation was given to the fruitful outcomes of the recent meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and bilateral negotiations that took place the day before in Moscow.

The importance of adopting coordinated measures aimed at ensuring growth in mutual trade figures, accelerating cooperation projects in the fields of industry, energy, transport, agriculture, and other sectors, as well as continuing active contacts at the regional level and among business organizations from Uzbekistan and Russia, was emphasized.

It was noted with satisfaction the expanding collaboration in the areas of innovation, artificial intelligence, education, and medicine. In November, successful events were held as part of the Uzbek Culture Days in Russia.

There was also an exchange of opinions on international agenda issues and multilateral cooperation within regional organizations in preparation for the upcoming high-level meetings at the end of December this year.
