According to the Ministry of Health, the pilot areas selected for establishing centralized laboratories are Nukus, the Bayaut district of the Syrdarya region, and the Yashnabad district of Tashkent.
Polyclinics will set up points for collecting biological materials from the public. Samples transported by special vehicles to centralized laboratories will be analyzed using high-quality equipment.
Results will be sent back to the polyclinics via an electronic information system and will be automatically recorded in the patient's electronic medical record. This system will also allow patients to access their test results when seeking treatment at other specialized medical clinics.
The services of the centralized laboratories will be provided upon a doctor's referral as part of the guaranteed package of health insurance. The costs will be covered by the State Medical Insurance Fund.
It is worth noting that Uzbekistan has previously approved a procedure for the free dispensing of medications in pharmacies during outpatient treatment. Electronic prescriptions issued by doctors will be sent via SMS.
