One-third of medical facilities and hospital beds in Uzbekistan are privately owned, according to the Ministry of Health.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, the private sector's contribution to Uzbekistan's healthcare has reached 30%, comprising 9,000 medical institutions, as reported by a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.
По данным Минздрава, частные владельцы контролируют треть медицинских учреждений и коек в Узбекистане.

The press service of the Ministry of Health has announced that since 2017, the number of private non-government clinics in the country has increased from 3,500 to 9,000. These private entities provide 40% of laboratory services, 60% of ophthalmological services, 70% in otolaryngology, and 91% in dentistry.

The number of medical specialties in this sector has grown from 50 to 225, as private medicine has gained the opportunity to obtain the necessary licenses. Thanks to the emergence of new specialists, over 3,700 existing private clinics have expanded their operations, and the range of medical services they offer has increased from 726 to 2,200.

Currently, it is noted that non-government medical clinics provide 35% of the total number of hospital beds, which reached 42,700 in 2024.

The Ministry of Health emphasized that international quality standards are being implemented in the operations of private medical institutions. Additionally, reliable consumer rights protection is being established, along with efforts to improve quality indicators in this sector.

It is worth recalling that earlier, the Uchtepinsk District Court for Criminal Cases convicted an otolaryngologist and an anesthesiologist-resuscitator from the capital's private clinic "Star Med Center" in connection with the death of the well-known viner Farhod Mannopov.
