In South Korea, a delegation from Uzbekistan met with the president of the Korean International Health Foundation, Il Soo Ha, to outline areas of cooperation, reports "Dunyo".
The South Korean side was presented with detailed information about Uzbekistan's social policy, including the activities of government bodies aimed at ensuring social protection, improving the standard of living for the population, providing social services, and creating specialized centers for individuals with disabilities.
The parties reached specific agreements to establish cooperation between the National Agency for Social Protection and the Korean International Health Foundation, as well as to prepare a draft of the relevant document.
During the event, there was an exchange of views on the establishment of support centers for the elderly and disabled in Uzbekistan, the implementation of emergency assistance centers for victims of domestic violence following the South Korean model, and the improvement of the integration process, social protection services, and healthcare.
Particular attention was given to the timely and effective implementation of projects such as enhancing academic competence at the Tashkent Medical Academy and strengthening the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis in Samarkand.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan would look into Korea's experience in protecting women and children affected by violence. The country has already studied the practices of Finland.
