In Uzbekistan, two airports have been transferred to the management of private companies, reported the president's press service.

The airports in Bukhara and Namangan will now be managed by private firms. The number of non-state airlines in Uzbekistan has risen to 14. In 2024, they managed to import 22 aircraft, including 6 cargo and 16 passenger planes.

It is noteworthy that ahead of the New Year holidays, Uzbekistan Airways announced additional flights on domestic routes within Uzbekistan. Due to increased demand for domestic air travel, the airline has introduced extra flights from Tashkent to various cities in the republic.

Previously, Uzbekistan Airways and its subsidiaries, Uzbekistan Helicopters and Silk Avia, were recognized as dominant in the local passenger air transportation market, as their market share exceeded 40%. Additionally, Uzbekistan Airways was acknowledged as a company with a dominant position in the market for providing passenger, cargo, and mail transportation services on international routes.
