В Берлинской библиотеке обнаружен удивительный альбом, который когда-то принадлежал Бабуридам.

A luxurious album related to the Baburid dynasty has been discovered in the State Library of Berlin, featuring gazelles on one side and miniatures on the other.

This unique album, consisting of 120 pages, is considered a murakkas (illustrated album) created by the eldest son of Amir Timur – Jahangir Mirza. It was produced in India during the 1650s and later transported to Europe. The significance of this find lies in the fact that the album contains ghazals by Alisher Navoi and Hussein Baykara, written in the Turkic language.

— If the Baburids considered themselves Mongols, the album would have been written in the Mongolian language. This, in turn, highlights the need to reconsider what world historians refer to as the Baburids being Mongols, — noted Aysima Mursultan, a researcher in the Central Asia department of the State Library of Berlin.

The Baburid dynasty boasts a history of over three hundred years of rule. In the palace, people could communicate in Persian, Hindi, or other languages; however, the main and most important matters were addressed in the Turkic language, and numerous Turkic manuscripts were copied. It is reported that 25 copies of this album are stored in the State Library of Berlin in Germany, while the remaining approximately 100 are located in the United Kingdom, the USA, the Czech Republic, and Iran.
