Throughout various eras in the history of our country, globally significant civilizations, great empires, impressive cities, and invaluable architectural monuments have emerged. The particularly outstanding cultural heritage created by our great ancestors has left an indelible mark on human history. Today, these scientific, historical, and artistic works are preserved in various corners of the world, within foreign collections, funds, libraries, and museums.
Currently, alongside all other fields, significant attention is being paid to science, education, and culture, particularly the study and popularization of our cultural heritage. To this end, the construction of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan began in 2017. At present, a magnificent building for the center is being erected in the historical district of our capital.
This center is expected to become a major platform showcasing the ancient civilizations that existed on the territory of Uzbekistan, the rich and unique heritage of our ancestors, as well as their worthy contribution to world civilization. Scientific research related to our history and culture will be conducted here. As emphasized by the head of our state, the doors of the center will always be open to foreign scholars and researchers wishing to collaborate with us.
Currently, the Center is conducting various studies aimed at exploring Uzbekistan's cultural heritage, the scientific and creative works left by our great ancestors, and determining their contribution to world civilization. As part of this work, scientific conferences are being held with the participation of local and foreign scholars. Moreover, scientists from the Center regularly receive invitations to various conferences abroad.
From November 18 to 20 of this year, an international symposium dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the death of the great figure and scholar Ali Kushchi took place in Istanbul, initiated by the Turkish Academy of Sciences and several universities. At the invitation of the president of the Turkish Academy of Sciences, Muzaffar Sheker, we participated in this conference along with a group of Uzbek scholars.
