In accordance with the presidential decree from October 10 of last year, the joint-stock company "Uzbekiston Temir Yullari" is undergoing transformation. Six independent enterprises focusing on infrastructure, wagon maintenance, and passenger transport have begun operations within its structure.

The train fleet is also expanding. Special attention is being given to enhancing comfort for passengers and tourists. New trains have been acquired, and the frequency of "Afrosiyob" electric train services between Tashkent and historic cities like Samarkand, Bukhara, and Karshi has increased.

Over the past time, more than 3,000 kilometers of railways have been electrified in the country. The electrification of the Bukhara – Urgench – Khiva railway line is nearing completion, while work on the Miskin – Nukus route is progressing rapidly.

An electrified road has also been constructed in the vicinity of Tashkent, which has allowed for a 30 percent increase in train capacity.

Now, a new electric train has been put into operation on the Tashkent – Khojikent route. The President took a trip on the train to Khojikent and familiarized himself with its capabilities.

The train cars are spacious and comfortable, accommodating 586 passengers. Information displays and a fire safety system have been installed. The train can reach speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour, with three daily departures in each direction.

During the trip, the head of state received reports on the development of railway infrastructure, improvements in passenger conditions, electrification of railways, and the beautification of areas along the tracks.

The President instructed that the territories adjacent to the railway between Tashkent and Khojikent be included in the renovation program for 2025 and be brought into order. He also emphasized the need to straighten out winding sections of the route to increase the number of daily express train services and accommodate even more passengers.

Additionally, the work within the "Yashil Makon" project was discussed. The necessity for greening railway embankments was highlighted, including the planting of drought-resistant plants using international experience in regions with limited water resources, as well as the importation of seedlings suitable for the local climate.
