It is planned to create 2,700 parking spaces under the elevated metro in the Sergeli and Yashnabad districts, reports Sultan Kadirov, the head of the Tashkent Metro's traffic service.
In the Yashnabad district, 1,200 parking spaces will be established on an area of 2.9 hectares, while the Sergeli district will have 1,500 parking spaces on 3.37 hectares. As a result of the construction of these parking lots, 1,700 new jobs will be created in the capital.
In September 2020, it was reported that the area under the elevated metro in the Yashnabad district is planned to be improved with the opening of cafes, restaurants, and shops. The street along the metro line is intended to be widened to create a promenade area, parallel parking for cars, and bike lanes.
