According to a report by the Chinese business publication Hurun, Elon Musk, the head of Tesla and SpaceX, has once again topped the list of the world's richest individuals according to China's version of Forbes.
The billionaire's fortune, as reported by Hurun, increased by 47% over the past year, reaching $235 billion. In second place is Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon, with a net worth of $187 billion. Bernard Arnault, president of the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy group, ranks third with an estimated fortune of approximately $177 billion.
According to the publication, there are currently 3,279 dollar billionaires in the world. Their number has increased by 167 over the past year, and the total wealth has grown by 9% to $15 trillion. The majority of billionaires reside in China, numbering 814. The United States ranks second with 800 billionaires, while India comes in third with 271.
The primary sources of wealth over the past year, as indicated by Hurun, include the finance sector, consumer goods, beverage and food production, as well as real estate.
